Organization tone of voice
The organization tone of voice holds the writing rules every profile in the workspace follows, such as how the company name is spelled or which words never appear, and an optional footer for every post. Each profile keeps its own voice on top of them.
It is for the admin of a company or client workspace who keeps the team on brand. Team members see the guidelines in their own tone of voice, read-only.
Open it from Settings → Content & branding → Tone of Voice.
How it works
- Workspace Guidelines are combined with each profile's own custom instructions whenever Scripe writes for that profile. Every profile's tone of voice shows them, read-only.
- Allow profiles to add custom instructions decides whether profiles may add their own instructions on top. Turned off, the Custom Instructions field is hidden on every profile, and the workspace guidelines apply alone.
- Enable workspace-wide footer adds your footer to the end of every post published from the workspace. It replaces a profile's own footer.
Keep the guidelines about how posts should read: spelling, words to use or avoid, how formal to be. What each person writes about belongs in Strategy, and how each person sounds belongs in their own tone of voice.
Setting it up
Turn on Workspace Guidelines
Write the rules, up to 3,000 characters. Concrete rules work better than adjectives, for example "Spell Scripe with a capital S" rather than "be on brand".
Decide on personal instructions
Leave Allow profiles to add custom instructions on so each person can still sound like themselves, or turn it off to make the guidelines the only instructions.
Add a footer if you want one
Turn on Enable workspace-wide footer and write it, up to 500 characters.
Save
Press Save Settings. The rules apply to the next post Scripe writes.
Ask Scripe can also update the organization tone of voice for an admin. When guidelines already exist, it shows both versions and asks before replacing them.
Limits and plans
- Business plan. On other plans, the page shows an upgrade card. See Plans.
- Only admins can open and change it; everyone else sees a note that they have no permission.
- Guidelines: up to 3,000 characters. Footer: up to 500 characters.
- Agency clients do not see this page.
Edge cases
- Agencies: each client workspace has its own organization tone of voice, so one client's rules never reach another's posts.
- Company Pages have no tone of voice section in their own settings.
