Carousels

A carousel is a deck of slides people swipe through on LinkedIn. Scripe designs one from your text or idea and you finish it on the media canvas, page by page, in your own look.

Carousels are for anyone who writes posts: a solo creator turning a post into slides, a marketer keeping every profile's decks in the company design, an agency producing decks per client.

  • From a description. In Create media, describe the deck ("A carousel about 5 hiring mistakes") or pick the Carousel format and one of the templates, then Create now or Recreate now.
  • From a post. Press Create media in the post's Add media window. The post's text becomes the subject and the carousel goes onto the post.
  • From an empty canvas. Start from an empty canvas in Create media, then build it yourself.
  • From your template. Start from a saved carousel template. Your default carousel template is what Scripe starts from when it makes a carousel for you.

For a carousel you also choose the profile it is for; their name, picture and credit appear on the slides.

Editing on the media canvas

Every carousel opens on the media canvas, with all pages stacked. Everything the media canvas does applies; these tools are specific to decks:

  • Pages. Add page, Duplicate page, Move page up or down, Delete page, Add page below.
  • Designs and layouts. In Branding, pick another design to change the whole deck's look (Add to all pages) or only the current page (Add to current page). A layout adds a page or restyles one (Add as new page, Replace current page). Your text is carried over.
  • Aspect ratio. Portrait (4:5, the default) or Square (1:1). Changing it reshapes every page, and Scripe asks first.
  • Page indicator. In Branding → Page indicator: Number, Dots, Bar or Arrow, its colour and position (or drag it on a page), and an optional swipe arrow.
  • Signature. The author credit is an element you can move and style (Plain, Chip, Glass or Outline). Enable on all pages puts it on every page; changing or deleting one copy changes or deletes them all.

Your work saves as you go. Click the title to rename the carousel; the name is the document title people see on LinkedIn.

Putting it on a post

In the post's Add media window, pick the carousel under Created and press Attach. A post carries one carousel or images, never both and never two carousels. LinkedIn shows it as a document people swipe through.

To change a carousel that is already on a post, click it in the post. It opens on the canvas inside the post, and the post's copy is updated when you close the window.

Download on the canvas gives you the carousel as a PDF, for example to post it yourself.

Limits

  • A carousel on a post can be up to 100 MB, LinkedIn's limit for documents.
  • When Scripe edits a carousel for you, it works with up to 30 slides.
