Teams
A team is a named group of users and profiles, such as Sales, Leadership or one office. Once you create one, it appears in the sidebar under your profiles, and pressing it opens Explore, Ideas, Posts and Analytics showing only that team's profiles. It is for workspaces with many profiles, where looking at everyone at once is too much and one profile at a time is too little.
How it works
- A team holds users and profiles. Users are the people in your workspace; profiles are the profiles and company pages they post from. A team can have either or both.
- A team is a view, not a permission. Putting a profile in a team gives nobody access to it. A Member on a team still sees only the profiles assigned to them, so they see the part of the team they already have access to. See Users, roles and invitations.
- Who sees which teams: Admins see every team. Members see the teams they belong to. Clients see no teams.
In the sidebar
When the workspace has at least one team you can see, a Teams section appears directly under your profiles. It works like the profile list above it:
- Press a team to open its Explore. Under it are Explore, Ideas, Posts and Analytics, each filtered to the team's profiles. Home, Media and Community are not filtered by team, so they are not listed under it.
- Pin a team to keep it at the top. Pinning is remembered in your browser.
- The search next to the heading finds a team by name.
On those four pages, the team appears as a filter you can clear. Clearing it shows everything again; pressing the team in the sidebar applies it again. The team view replaces any profile filter you had set, so you see the whole team; add a profile filter back from the filter bar to narrow it.
Creating and editing a team
Only Admins create, edit and delete teams. Use Create team under the sidebar list, or New team on Settings → Teams.
The team dialog has three tabs:
- General: the name, and an icon or emoji with a colour.
- Members: the users in the team.
- Profiles: the profiles and company pages in the team.
Changes appear in the sidebar and on every filtered page as soon as you save. Deleting a team deletes only the grouping; no user, profile or post is touched.
When it goes wrong
- I don't see a Teams section in the sidebar: there is no team yet, or you are not on any team. Ask an Admin to add you.
- A team shows fewer profiles for me than for my Admin: you see only the profiles assigned to you. The team itself is the same.
- I can't edit a team: editing is for Admins.
