Ask Scripe

Ask Scripe is the agent that works beside every page of Scripe. Tell it what you need in your own words, and it writes posts and hooks in your profile's voice, revises the draft you have open, finds ideas, makes visuals, researches a topic and reads your numbers. It acts on your workspace directly, and it asks before anything goes out on LinkedIn.

Ask Scripe is for everyone who creates content: solo creators, marketers and team admins, team members writing for their own profile, and agencies writing for their clients. Agency clients do not have it.

Opening it

Press Scripe Agent at the top right of any page. The chat opens as a panel beside the page, so you can keep looking at the post, idea or analytics you are asking about. The panel's controls:

  • Full screen widens the chat; Sidebar returns it to the panel. Opening a draft or a visual from the chat leaves full screen, so you see what you opened.
  • New chat starts an empty conversation.
  • Chat history lists earlier chats, with a search. Each chat can be renamed or deleted.

What it can do

You ask forWhat happens
A postScripe offers hook choices first, then writes the post from the one you pick and saves it as a draft you can open. Say so if you want the post right away without hooks.
HooksSeveral opening lines for a topic or a draft.
Changes to a postOn a post's page, "make it shorter" or "add a story from my last client project" changes the open draft in place. See AI help in the editor.
Post ideasIdeas from a topic, a file, a link or a meeting in your knowledge base. They land in For you. Scripe can also add, update, plan or delete ideas on your idea board; deleting asks you to confirm first.
A repurposed postA new version of an existing post, for example one of your best posts with a different angle.
A visualScripe picks a fitting template and creates the visual right away. It asks for a photo only when the visual shows you. The visual is saved to Media, and a post written about it gets it as media.
ResearchA web search on a topic, the outlier posts on a subject (posts that did better than their authors usually do), or what the sources you follow published.
Your numbersYour post history and analytics for a period, compared with the period before. Your best posting times need the Advanced or Business plan.
Scheduling or publishingScripe proposes a date or "post now" and shows a card with exactly what LinkedIn will show. Nothing is scheduled or published until you press Confirm schedule or Publish now on it. If your workspace requires approval before posting, Scripe refuses to schedule a post that has not been approved and tells you what is missing.
Positioning and tone of voiceScripe can read and update your positioning, a profile's person document and the workspace's tone of voice. Admins only. When the field already holds text you wrote, Scripe shows both versions and waits for your confirmation.

When Scripe needs a decision from you, it asks one question with options you can tap.

What it knows

Every message carries the context Scripe needs, so you do not have to explain your workspace:

  • The profile you selected. The Profile field in the chat decides whose voice, positioning and settings Scripe writes with. To switch profile, start a new chat.
  • Your workspace's profiles. Scripe knows which profiles you can work for. Ask about a colleague by name ("show me Eva's best posts") and it reads that profile's posts, analytics or knowledge. It changes and creates things only for the profile selected in the chat.
  • Your knowledge base. Scripe knows which folders it holds, including synced ones like Granola, GitHub or Google Drive, and can list, read and search the documents. See Knowledge base.
  • The page you are on. On a post, an idea or a media page, the chat attaches that page when you start a conversation, and Scripe can see what the page shows.

When you write a post, Scripe uses the profile's tone of voice and its earlier posts as writing samples. Posts are plain text. Unicode bold appears only when the profile has switched it on in its tone of voice.

Attaching material

Press Add context in the message box to attach:

  • Add media from your library
  • Add files, PDFs, or audio
  • Add Youtube or web URLs

Scripe takes pictures, PDFs, audio and video. You can also drop files onto the chat. Each message takes up to 10 files and links. Audio and video can be up to 2 GB per file, a picture or PDF up to 50 MB. Scripe names any file it cannot take and why.

From other pages, Add to chat attaches what you are looking at: a post in Explore, an idea, a source or a piece of media. When a LinkedIn post with pictures is attached, Scripe sees the pictures too and can recreate the look in your brand.

The microphone (Transcribe with microphone) turns speech into text in the message box.

Stopping and correcting

  • One request at a time. While Scripe answers, you cannot send another message.
  • Stop. Press the square (Stop response). Scripe keeps what it had written so far and marks it with You stopped this response; your next message continues from there.
  • Leaving the page does not cancel a running answer. It finishes and is saved in the chat.
  • A visual has its own stop. A visual keeps rendering after the answer ends, so the chat stays free. Stop it on its card with Stop creating this media. Stopping the response does not stop a visual.
  • Edit your last message. Hover over your last message and press Edit message. Change the text, then press Enter (Escape cancels). Scripe discards its previous answer and answers again. A draft or visual the previous answer already created stays. Only your last typed message can be edited, and not when it carried attachments.

Limits and plans

  • Plans. Ask Scripe is part of every paid plan (Solo, Advanced and Business) and of the free trial. On the Free plan the message box shows Chatting with Scripe is part of every paid plan. See Plans.
  • Weekly AI usage. Everything Scripe generates counts toward a weekly AI usage allowance. From 80% the message box shows how much of the week is used; at 100% AI features pause until the usage resets on Monday. A higher plan has a higher allowance.
  • Long conversations. In a long chat, Scripe keeps a condensed version of older research and results, so it may not quote them word for word later. Start a new chat for a new topic.
  • Agency clients do not have Ask Scripe.

Edge cases

  • A colleague's draft. Scripe changes only drafts you created. Open your own draft, or ask the colleague.
  • A published post. Scripe does not change a post that is already published. Ask it to repurpose the post into a new draft instead.
