Create media
Create media turns a sentence, a link or a template into a finished visual for LinkedIn, so a post gets an image without a design tool.
It is for everyone who writes posts: a solo creator making their own carousels, a marketer giving every profile visuals in the company's look, a team member adding a picture to a draft, and an agency producing visuals in each client's branding. Agency clients do not create media.
Where to start
- New in the sidebar → Media.
- Create media on the Media page.
- Create media in a post's Add media window. The visual goes straight onto the post.
- An idea's page, to make the visual for that idea.
- Create media on a saved template.
What you can make
| Format | What it is |
|---|---|
| Carousel | A multi-slide deck in one design |
| Photo overlay | Your photo with a branded text layer |
| Infographic | Frameworks, lists and comparisons |
| Quote | One line, set on a designed background |
| Tweet | A post styled as a social card, light or dark |
| Meme | A classic format with your caption |
| Holding a sign | Your portrait carrying a statement |
Two ways to begin
Describe it
Type what you want in Describe your media, for example "A carousel about 5 hiring mistakes", and press Create now. Scripe reads the format from your words. While you type, the templates below are filtered to match.
Start from an empty canvas opens a blank page instead, with nothing generated.
Start from a template
Under Use a template, pick a format, then a design from My templates (your saved ones) or Popular templates. On Use this template you see the template large and can:
- describe what your version should be about, then press Recreate now (or Create now for one of your own templates);
- press Use without any changes to open the template on the canvas as it is, with nothing generated.
Explore more shows other examples of the same format.
For a carousel, tweet or photo overlay you also choose the profile it is for: their name, picture and credit are put into the design.
What Scripe uses as input
- Your words. The description is what the visual is about.
- A picture. Templates that show a person (Photo overlay, Holding a sign) ask for Your photo or Background photo, which you pick from your library or upload. On other formats, add pictures through Add context → Add media from your library. On Infographic and other AI-drawn formats, an attached picture is worked into the template as context (up to two); the template's layout stays as it is. Memes, tweets and carousels do not use attached pictures, and the screen says so.
- A link. Paste a web page and Scripe reads it for this visual only. It is not added to your knowledge base. Up to three pages are read.
- A post. When you start from a post, its text is the subject.
Your branding
Your workspace's branding (colours, fonts, logo) is used when you ask for it, for example "in our branding", or with Apply your branding on a template, which shows the template in your colours, fonts and style before you start. It is never forced onto a visual you did not ask to brand. Tweets do not take branding.
After you press Create
Scripe opens the new visual on the canvas straight away and generates it there. It can take a minute; you can leave the page, and the visual appears under Created in Media when it is ready. Every visual is assigned to the profile you made it for.
The media canvas
Every visual Scripe made opens on the media canvas, where you change anything by hand.
- Text and shapes. Add text (T) and Add shape (S). Select an element to change its font, size, colour, alignment, fill, border, shadow and more in the bar above it.
- Images. Images (I) adds pictures from your library, from what Scripe created, from stock, or a new upload. Create with AI draws a new picture for the page. Double-click a picture to crop it. Ask Scripe on a picture changes it from a sentence ("make the background darker").
- Elements. Elements (E) adds profile avatars, your company logo, text styles and profile signatures.
- Branding. Branding (L) changes the whole design: your brand preset or a default theme, colours, heading and body font, background texture, corner radius and, for carousels, the aspect ratio (Portrait 4:5 or Square 1:1).
- Undo and redo with Ctrl+Z / Cmd+Z, zoom with Ctrl+= and Ctrl+-.
The canvas saves as you work; there is no save button. Click the title to rename the visual. Download gives you a PNG for a single image, or a PDF for a carousel.
Carousels have their own page tools; see Carousels.
Limits and plans
- Generating a visual uses your workspace's AI usage. When the weekly limit is reached, Scripe says so instead of generating.
- On a trial that has not started or a plan that ended, the composer offers the trial or an upgrade instead. See Plans.
When it goes wrong
- "The visual does not show my colours." Ask for your branding in the description, or press Apply your branding before you start.
- "My photo was not used." Only templates that show a person and AI-drawn formats use pictures. A meme, tweet or carousel does not.
- "The link I pasted is not in my knowledge base." Links in Create media are read for that visual only. Add the page under Knowledge to keep it.
