Product Guide · Administration
Plans and billing
Settings → Billing is where the person who pays, and every Admin allowed to manage billing, changes the plan, adds or removes seats, updates the card and billing details, downloads invoices and cancels. Everyone else in the workspace sees "You can't manage billing for this workspace. Ask an admin who manages billing." See Billing access for who that is.
For what each plan includes, see Plans. Prices are on scripe.io/pricing.
What the page shows
- Current plan: your plan, the price per seat and billing interval, the next billing date, and, during a trial, how many days are left. Explore plans opens the plan comparison.
- Seats: how many Full seats and Light seats you use out of how many you pay for, with Manage seats.
- AI usage and Storage: how much of the weekly AI allowance and the storage the workspace and each profile have used. See Usage limits.
- Billing details: billing email, company name, address, VAT number and payment methods.
- History: every invoice with its total including tax, its date and status, and a PDF to download.
- Sub-workspaces (Business): the client workspaces your subscription pays for.
Changing your plan
- Upgrade: press Explore plans and pick the plan.
- Switch to yearly: when you pay monthly, the page shows how much you save by billing yearly, with Upgrade now.
- Downgrade: moving to a lower plan is not self-serve. Contact support to change your plan.
Plans are paid by card. A subscription bought in the Scripe iOS app is managed in your App Store settings, not here: the page says "Subscription managed through App Store" and links there.
Seats
A seat is capacity for one profile. A Full seat holds a Full profile, which creates, schedules and analyses content. A Light seat holds a Light profile: Light profiles are for engagement and analytics, no content creation. Light seats are part of Business. Company pages do not use a seat. Users do not use seats either.
Open Manage seats
Set the number of Full and Light seats you want.
Review the change
Scripe previews what you pay today and your new recurring total before you confirm.
Confirm
The new seat count applies straight away.
Adding seats charges the prorated difference for the rest of the billing period on the spot.
Reducing seats takes effect immediately. The unused time comes back as a credit on your next invoice or on your account balance; it is not refunded to your card.
You cannot go below the number of profiles you use. To reduce seats further, delete profiles first in profile settings, then reduce. Disconnecting a profile's LinkedIn does not free its seat.
On Enterprise, seat changes go through your account manager: Talk to sales.
VAT number and tax
Scripe does not set the VAT rate itself. Our payment provider, Stripe, calculates tax on every invoice from two things: the country in your billing address, and whether a VAT number is saved for your business. For a business in an EU country other than Germany, where Scripe is based, a saved VAT number means the invoice is reverse charged with no VAT. Without one, VAT is charged at your country's standard rate.
To add or change your VAT number:
Open Billing details
Press Update billing details.
Enter the number
Type your VAT number in VAT number, with or without the country prefix and with or without spaces. Scripe formats it, including the
ELprefix Greek numbers need.Save
The number is checked when you save. A number Scripe cannot use is named on the field, and the rest of your details are not saved until you fix or clear it.
VAT numbers from the 27 EU countries and the United Kingdom are supported, including XI numbers for Northern Ireland. For any other billing country, the field says Scripe cannot store a VAT number yet.
A VAT number applies to invoices created after you save it. If VAT was charged on an invoice before that, contact support with the invoice.
Invoices
Every invoice is listed under History with its reference, total including tax, date and status. Download the PDF from its row. A change to your billing address applies to new invoices only.
Cancelling
Press Cancel subscription and follow the steps. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for; the page then shows "Your subscription is canceled" with the date. Resume subscription keeps your plan if you change your mind before that date.
If the cancellation steps do not finish, the page says "Your cancellation didn't go through" and offers Cancel my subscription directly.
Refunds follow the refund policy.
When a trial or a plan ends
Nothing is locked away. Every page of Scripe stays open, and your profiles, posts, ideas, media and knowledge stay where they are. What changes:
- Features that need a plan show an offer instead. Creating with Scripe's AI shows Upgrade to use this feature. Explore's feed and parts of Analytics and Community show a preview that fades into Upgrade to unlock.
- Notifications stop. Email, Slack and in-app notifications, and LinkedIn connection alerts, are not sent while the workspace has no plan.
A free workspace with no activity for 12 months is scheduled for deletion. You get email notices before that happens, and any activity in the workspace stops it.
Yearly renewal reminder
On a yearly plan, Scripe emails you about 30 days before the renewal with what will be charged, when, and how to cancel. Monthly plans and trials get no reminder.
Agency billing
On Business, one subscription can pay for several workspaces, for example your clients'. They are listed under Sub-workspaces with the root workspace marked (Root). Billing is managed only from the root workspace; in a client workspace, the Billing page shows "Managed by" your agency.
Stop billing takes one workspace off your subscription:
- Its seats come off your subscription. On grandfathered Agency pricing, a minimum of 3 seats remains.
- Nothing is deleted. The workspace, its profiles, its content and its users stay as they are, and it stays in everyone's workspace list.
- Unless it has a plan of its own, it moves to the Free plan straight away, with the effects described under When a trial or a plan ends.
To delete a client workspace for good, switch to it and use Settings → General.
Cancel subscription on a Business plan that pays for several workspaces cancels it for all of them. To take one client off, use Stop billing on that workspace instead.
