Team engagement
Team engagement gets a post its first likes, comments and reposts from the other profiles in your workspace, timed from the moment it goes live, without anyone having to remember to do it.
It is for teams: an in-house marketer planning reactions from colleagues, a team member whose post the company page and teammates support, and an agency running it inside a client workspace. A solo creator with one profile has nobody to engage from.
How it works
Under the post in the editor, Team engagement lists what each profile will do once the post is published. Every row is one profile and one action:
| Type | What happens on LinkedIn |
|---|---|
| Like | The profile reacts: Like, Celebrate, Support, Love, Insightful or Funny. |
| Comment | The profile comments with the text in the row. |
| Repost | The profile reposts, with optional text of its own. |
Timing counts from the moment the post goes live: Immediately, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 1 hour or 2 hours. Nothing happens before the post is published. A row reads Ready until then.
Who can engage
A profile can engage only when both are true:
- Its LinkedIn connection is active.
- Its engagement settings allow the action.
Each profile has one setting each for likes, comments and reshares: On, Request or Off. On means the action goes out as planned. Request means the person behind the profile approves it first. Off means the profile is not offered for that action.
Workspaces on a plan with team engagement start with likes and comments On and reshares on Request. A company page's own settings start with all three On. A profile with no settings at all engages with nothing, so nobody's name is ever used without consent.
Profiles from another workspace are never offered.
How comments are written
Generate Engagements drafts comments in each commenter's own voice, using their profile's tone of voice and the example comments in your settings. The comments are deliberately short and different from each other: most are a quick reaction, at most one per post is long, and no two say the same thing, stock phrases and emojis included. When Scripe cannot find a comment that differs from the others, it leaves the row empty rather than repeat one; write it yourself or press Generate AI comment on that row.
Setting it up for a post
Add the engagements
Press Generate Engagements to add a like from every colleague whose likes are not Off, and a drafted comment from every colleague whose comments are not Off, with the comments spread out over the first hour. Or press + to add rows one at a time. Reposts and company pages are added by hand only.
Check and edit
Change any profile, type, timing or comment. Generate AI comment redrafts one comment with the others in mind.
Save
Press Save. The rows go out once the post is scheduled or published.
Each profile can like a post once and repost it once; LinkedIn refuses a second one. A profile can comment more than once. A comment can be up to 1,250 characters, a repost's text up to 3,000.
Approval requests
When a row uses a profile set to Request, the person behind that profile gets a notification when the post is scheduled or published, not when you save. They open the post and decide in the panel above the table: Accept All, Decline All, or per row Accept, Decline or Edit before approving. Only people who may act for that profile can decide. The mobile app offers the same decision.
A request still open 24 hours after the post's planned go-live time is cancelled, and nothing is posted for it.
A row's Status tells you where it stands: Ready, Pending (waiting for approval), Approved, Declined, Executed (sent), Failed or Cancelled.
Settings
- For the whole workspace: Settings → Engagement. Set Likes, Comments and Reshares for every profile and company page at once, or per profile, and add Example comments under AI comments for each profile.
- For one profile: the profile's settings → Engagement Settings, including its Reaction type for likes.
A profile's owner, a workspace admin, or someone assigned to that profile can change its settings.
Limits and plans
Team engagement is part of the Advanced and Business plans. On other plans the section shows Team engagement with an upgrade button. See Plans.
Light profiles can engage too. Light profiles are for engagement and analytics, with no content creation; they are available on Business.
Edge cases
- You unschedule or reschedule the post. Rows that have not gone out return to editable drafts, and approvals are asked for again when you schedule it again.
- A colleague's LinkedIn connection lapsed. Their profile is shown but cannot be picked until they reconnect. See LinkedIn connection.
- Your plan changed. Requests that were waiting can no longer be decided and expire after the 24 hours.
When it goes wrong
- "A colleague is greyed out." Their LinkedIn connection is not active, or their settings turn that action Off.
- "A row says Failed." LinkedIn refused the action, for example because the profile had already liked the post.
- "Nothing was posted for a colleague." Their approval request expired, they declined, or their profile has no engagement settings.
