Product Guide · Plan and Publish

Posts

Posts shows everything you are writing and everything you published in one place: as a calendar, so you see which days are covered, and as a list or board, so you see what is still in draft, in review or scheduled.

Every reader uses Posts, in a slightly different way:

  • A solo creator plans their own week and drags drafts onto free days.
  • An in-house marketer or team admin sees all profiles at once, filters by profile, team or lane, and checks who still needs a post.
  • A team member works in their own profile's Posts.
  • An agency switches between client workspaces; inside each, it works like an in-house team.
  • An agency client sees the posts waiting for their review, the scheduled ones and the published ones. Drafts are not shown to them.

Calendar and Posts

The two tabs at the top switch between Calendar and Posts. Posts in the sidebar opens the calendar first.

The calendar

Month scrolls continuously through the months. Week shows the days hour by hour, with a line at the current time. Today takes you back to today, and the arrows step a week or a month. There is no day view.

Each post is a card with its status icon and title, and, when you look at several profiles, the profile's picture. Click a card for its time, status, lane, labels, campaign, text and media, with Schedule, Edit Post and Remove from calendar. A published post opens on LinkedIn and cannot be moved.

Ideas you planned for a day appear as yellow cards. Click one to open the idea.

When you look at one profile, the calendar also marks its posting days and posting times, and puts a lane suggestion (Reach, Trust or Convert) on each upcoming posting slot, following the profile's goal for the period. Click a suggestion to pick a draft for that slot.

The list and the board

Posts shows the same posts by status. Open Display to switch between List and Board.

  • Board: one column per status (Draft, In Progress, In Review, Scheduled, Published, plus any your workspace added). Drag a card to another column to change its status.
  • List: one group per status, which you can collapse. The list has no date column; switch to the board and turn on Scheduled Date to see dates.

Dragging a card to In Review asks for a reviewer, to Scheduled opens scheduling, and to Published opens publishing. Suggested holds posts Scripe drafted for you; you cannot move a post into it.

Display also controls which properties every card shows: Status, Labels, Campaign, Lane and Reviewer in the list, and Scheduled Date, Labels, Campaign and Lane on the board. Show Empty Groups keeps statuses with no posts visible. Edit status columns opens your workspace's Post Statuses.

Search posts looks through titles and text.

Planning is not scheduling

The calendar knows two kinds of dates, and the difference decides whether a post goes out:

What it meansGoes to LinkedIn?
PlannedThe post has a day on the calendar. Its status stays what it was, for example Draft. No
ScheduledThe post is in the Scheduled status with a time.Yes, at that time

You plan a post by dragging it onto a day, by Choose Post or Schedule Post on a day, or with Set calendar date in a post's menu. You schedule it with Publish in the editor, by dragging it to Scheduled on the board, or with Schedule to LinkedIn after pressing Schedule on its calendar card (Move in the same dialog only plans it). See Schedule and publish.

Dragging a scheduled post back into Unplanned, or using Remove from calendar, unschedules it: the post will not be published, and it returns to your default draft status.

Dragging a scheduled post to another day asks you to confirm, then keeps it scheduled at the new time.

The Unplanned sidebar

On the right of the calendar, Unplanned lists what has no day yet: drafts that are not scheduled or published, and ideas without a date. All, Ideas and Posts narrow the list. Drag an item onto a day to plan it; drag a card back to unplan it.

In month view, a post lands at the day's first posting time (or 9:00 when the profile has none) and an idea at noon. In week view it lands at the time you drop it on. Nothing can be planned in the past.

On a day you can also press + to Add Idea or Schedule Post, and in week view click an empty time for Add Idea or Choose Post. Choose Post and Schedule Post plan a draft on that day.

Filters

Filter narrows what you see. Each condition is is or is not, with one or more values.

  • On the calendar: Profiles and Teams.
  • On the list and board: Profiles, Teams, Status, Labels, Campaigns and Lane.

The Lane filter keeps exactly the posts whose lane chip shows that lane. "Lane is not Reach" also keeps posts that have no lane yet. See The post editor for how a post gets its lane.

A profile's posts and the workspace's posts

Posts in the workspace section shows every profile you can open, with the Profiles and Teams filters. Posts under a profile shows only that profile's posts and has no profile filter. A team in the sidebar opens Posts filtered to that team's profiles.

In a workspace with a single profile, the sidebar shows only the profile's Posts.

Timezones

Each profile has its own timezone, set with its posting times (the calendar's Settings button, or the profile's settings → Post times). Every post appears in its own profile's time, so a post scheduled for 9:00 in Tokyo sits at 9:00 even on a calendar you view from Berlin. The hour labels and the current-time line follow the selected profile's timezone, or the first selected profile's when you view several.

Changing a timezone changes how times are shown, never when a scheduled post goes out.

Settings

Settings on the calendar opens the profile's Post times: Timezone, Week starts on, and the Schedule Timetable of days and times you publish on. Changes save automatically. These posting times drive Next available in the editor and the suggestions on the calendar.

Campaigns on the calendar opens your campaigns; campaign bars span their dates on the calendar. See Campaigns and The workspace calendar.

Plans

Posts, the calendar and the board are on every plan. Labels and Campaigns are Business features, custom statuses too (Post Statuses). Reviews are part of Advanced and Business. See Plans.

When it goes wrong

  • "I planned a post and it was not published." Planning gives it a day, not a schedule. Open it and use Publish.
  • "A post disappeared from the calendar." It was unplanned (dragged to Unplanned or removed from the calendar). Find it in Unplanned or in the Posts list.
  • "Post times are off by hours." The profile's timezone differs from yours. Check Timezone under Post times.
  • "I can't plan on a day." The day is in the past.
