Engagement lists

Community → Engagement lists keeps the LinkedIn profiles you want to stay close to (customers, colleagues, competitors, the voices in your industry) in profile lists, and shows their new posts in one feed, ready to like, comment on or repost as any profile in your workspace.

It is for team admins, agencies and creators who engage with other people's posts as part of their week. On this page, "profile" means somebody else's LinkedIn profile; the profiles of your own workspace are the ones you act as.

How it works

  • A list belongs to one of your profiles. That profile acts by default, and everyone who can see that profile sees the list.
  • Scripe checks the people on a list for new posts. Someone you add is checked within a few minutes, then daily. After five checks in a row with no new post, a person is checked monthly instead, marked Quiet; one new post moves them back to daily.
  • Nothing is automated here. Every like, comment and repost is a click by a person. Nothing is scheduled, and nobody is followed on LinkedIn.
  • A Scripe customer on your list keeps their posts up to date through their own LinkedIn connection and is marked Scripe customer.

Pre-filled lists

Scripe sets up suggested lists for you, often before you open the tab:

ListWho is on it
Your teamPeople at your company and the profiles in this workspace
CompetitorsPeople and Company Pages at the companies you compete with
Industry voicesActive voices in your industry with a large following
PeersFor a solo creator: people who write about what you write about

A suggestion is never a follow. Removing a suggested person tells Scripe not to suggest them again for that profile. Update suggestions looks for new people, at most once an hour; new finds appear on the list under More suggestions and never replace anyone on it. Scripe also refreshes suggestions when you open the tab once the last ones are 30 days old.

The Competitors list is filled from the companies you name. Edit them in the list's chips: they are saved to your company in the knowledge base, and new ideas use them as context too. A company Scripe found but you did not name appears as a suggested chip; it is added only when you accept it.

Suggested lists need a paid plan, because Scripe uses AI to find the people. Without one, the tab says so and you can still build lists by hand.

Adding a profile

Press Add profile and paste the person's LinkedIn profile URL. A bare handle or a full URL with tracking parameters works too. Scripe looks the person up and shows a preview before anything is added.

A name is not enough. LinkedIn has no people search Scripe can use, and many people share a name, so Scripe refuses a name rather than guess and put a stranger on your list. Copy the URL from the person's LinkedIn page.

A person who has never published can still be added; their posts appear when they write. Company Pages cannot be added by URL yet.

Engaging from the feed

Open a list to see its posts. On each post:

  • Like reacts as the acting profile; open More reactions for Celebrate, Support, Love, Insightful or Funny.
  • Comment opens a reply box. Comment as chooses the profile or Company Page it is published under. Draft with AI writes a draft in that profile's voice, which you edit and send yourself.
  • Repost reposts it as the acting profile.
  • Mark done files a post you have dealt with. A post you liked, commented on or reposted through Scripe counts as done too. Filter the feed by To do, Done or All, or use Mark all as done.

Done is shared: a post someone in your workspace marked done shows who did it.

Managing a list

Open Manage on a list to see everyone on it and their state:

  • Muted hides a person's posts from the feed but keeps checking them.
  • Profile unreachable means the person's LinkedIn address stopped working, usually because they renamed or closed their account. Use Update URL with their current address; Scripe does not retry on its own.
  • May have changed jobs marks a suggested colleague or competitor whose employer seems to have changed.
  • Archive list stops checking the list and makes it read-only. Its posts and engagement history stay readable under Archived. To watch those people again, create a new list.

Similar authors suggests people who write about what one of your profiles writes about, usually competitors, based on that profile's LinkedIn headline, about section and topics and your positioning. Nobody is added until you add them to a list.

Limits and plans

Looking people up and checking them for new posts uses a monthly budget. When it is used up, new people cannot be looked up and Check now is unavailable until it resets; scheduled checks resume then.

Edge cases

  • A profile whose LinkedIn connection is broken cannot act. Reconnect it, then retry; see LinkedIn connection.
  • LinkedIn rate-limits a profile: wait about a minute and try again.
  • A list for another profile: create it with New list and pick the Owning profile. Only people who can see that profile see the list.
