AI help in the editor

While a draft is open, Ask Scripe works on that draft: tell it what to change and it changes the post in place, keeping the previous version so you can go back. One menu item rewrites the post for colleagues, each in their own voice.

This page is for everyone who edits posts: solo creators, marketers, team members and agencies. Agency clients review posts but do not have Ask Scripe.

Looking for the weekly post suggestions this page used to describe? Scripe's suggestions are now in For you.

Changing the open draft

  1. Open Ask Scripe on the post

On the post's page, press Scripe Agent at the top right. The chat opens beside the editor with the post attached.

  2. Say what to change

For example "shorten it to 150 words", "make the opening a question" or "add the number from our Q3 report". Before your first message, the chat offers Improve this draft, Suggest alternative hooks and Evaluate this post's clarity and impact.

  3. Check the result

Scripe changes only what you asked and saves the draft. The editor shows the new text.

Scripe edits the draft itself rather than writing a new one, so "make it shorter" never leaves you with two drafts. An evaluation is answered in the chat.

The editor's text toolbar has no AI buttons; select text to Comment on it or format it. The Bold button sets the selection in Unicode bold, which LinkedIn shows as bold. Scripe itself writes plain text and uses Unicode bold only when the profile has switched it on in its tone of voice, because screen readers cannot read Unicode bold.

Going back to an earlier version

Every change Scripe makes first saves the version it replaces. In the chat, the post's card has arrows (Previous post version, Next post version) and shows Version 2 of 3. When you look at an older version, the editor says This is an old version:

  • Restore this version makes it the current text. The text it replaces is saved as a version too, so a restore can be undone.
  • Back to latest version returns to the current text.

A change that leaves the text the same saves no version.

Rewriting a post for other profiles

On a post, open the ··· menu and choose Repurpose for other profiles.

  1. Pick the profiles

Choose up to 10 profiles of your workspace per run. The post's own profile cannot be picked.

  2. Add instructions if you want

Instructions (optional): anything the new versions should keep or change.

  3. Create the drafts

Press Create 3 drafts (the number follows your selection). Each profile gets its own draft, written in its own tone of voice. The original post does not change.

Scripe carries over what shaped the original, not just its text: the chat that wrote it, its sources and the idea's brief. What travelled with it lists what came along and names anything that did not. A post published outside Scripe carries only its text.

Each result reads Draft created with Open draft. A profile that already got a draft from this run reads Draft already created, and nothing is written twice. If some profiles failed, Try again for 2 profiles retries only those; Scripe never retries on its own.

The same action is on a post's detail in Analytics, as Repurpose for profiles.

Limits and plans

  • Ask Scripe is part of every paid plan (Solo, Advanced and Business) and the free trial. See Plans.
  • Every change and every repurposed draft counts toward the weekly AI usage of the profile it is written for. A profile that has used its week reads Weekly AI limit reached for this profile; the others are still written.

Edge cases

  • A colleague's draft. Ask Scripe changes only drafts you created. Ask the colleague, or repurpose the post for your own profile.
  • A published post. Scripe does not change a post that is already on LinkedIn. Repurpose it into a new draft.
  • A profile that is not set up. Repurposing reads This profile isn't set up yet for it.
  • An agency client does not have Ask Scripe.
