Product Guide · Getting Started
Set up your workspace
Setting up takes a few minutes: you create a workspace, add your first profile, and you are on your Home. Adding more profiles and inviting colleagues comes after, and only an admin does it.
This page is for everyone who sets Scripe up: a solo creator, an in-house marketer, an agency setting up a client. If you were invited to a workspace, you only need Joining a workspace.
How onboarding works
You sign up with Apple, Google, LinkedIn or your email address. Onboarding then asks a few short questions, one per screen, and creates your workspace on the way:
- You've been invited: only if someone already invited you, or your email domain matches a workspace. You can join it, or create a new workspace.
- How did you find Scripe?
- Tell us about your company: the company name becomes the workspace name. Scripe saves the company size and website with your company details.
- How will you use LinkedIn?: only when your company has more than two people.
- Add your first profile: connect LinkedIn, or paste a LinkedIn profile URL (see below).
- Your workspace is ready: press Open Scripe and you land on your Home.
Back always returns to the previous screen without repeating anything you already did, so you can correct the company name or the profile safely.
Onboarding does not ask you to pay. A new workspace can open every page; features your workspace has no plan for offer the free trial, or an upgrade, where you meet them. See Plans.
Your first profile: connect LinkedIn or paste a URL
The profile step offers two ways in, and they are not equal.
| Connect LinkedIn | LinkedIn profile URL | |
|---|---|---|
| How | You sign in to LinkedIn and allow Scripe | You paste linkedin.com/in/your-name and Scripe looks the profile up |
| Public posts and follower count | Yes | Yes, refreshed once a day |
| Impressions, profile views, follower growth | Yes | No: Home and Analytics show a dash and Connect LinkedIn to see this |
| Publishing and scheduling to LinkedIn | Yes | No, until you connect |
A URL is the quick way to see your posts in Scripe before you connect. You can connect the same profile later from its settings, and nothing you created in the meantime is lost.
Connecting signs in to the LinkedIn account itself, so the person who owns the profile has to do it. If you set Scripe up for a colleague, add their profile by URL now and ask them to connect it later, or invite them as a user so they connect it themselves.
Adding more profiles
You add profiles from Add profile at the bottom of the Profiles list in the sidebar, or the + next to the Profiles heading. You choose:
- Full profile: create, schedule and analyze content. You go through the same profile and ready screens as in onboarding.
- Light profile: engagement and analytics, no content creation. Scripe gives you an invite link; anyone who connects LinkedIn through it appears as a pending Light profile for you to activate. Only workspace admins see this option.
Company pages are not added from that menu. When a connected person administers a LinkedIn company page, Scripe finds it and lists it under Profiles with an Activate button. Activating it adds the page; it publishes through that person's LinkedIn connection.
What your plan allows:
| Solo | Advanced | Business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full profiles | 1 | One per Full seat | One per Full seat |
| Company pages | No | Yes | Yes |
| Light profiles | No | No | One per Light seat |
When all your Full seats are in use, Add profile sends an admin who manages billing to Billing to add a seat. Company pages do not use a seat. See Plans.
Inviting your team
Users are the people who sign in; they are not seats, and Advanced and Business have no user limit. Solo has one user.
- Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar and choose Invite users.
- Enter or paste the email addresses, separated by commas.
- Pick a role:
- Admin: works on every profile and invites users. Manages billing by default; you can turn that off before sending.
- Member: works on the profiles assigned to them.
- Client: read-only review of assigned posts.
- Optionally choose the profiles they work on. They are assigned when the invitation is accepted.
- Press Send Invite.
Changing a user's role later, on Settings > Users & Profiles, is part of Business. See Users and roles.
Joining a workspace you were invited to
Sign up with the email address the invitation went to. Onboarding opens on You've been invited: press Join and you are in. If your email domain matches a workspace you were not invited to, the row reads Request to join, and an admin of that workspace has to accept.
Edge cases
- A second workspace. Several workspaces are part of Business. You create one from the workspace menu with Add workspace; onboarding then asks only for the company and the first profile.
- A profile you started but never finished stays in the sidebar with a progress ring. Press it to continue where you stopped, or delete it from the row's menu. While several are unfinished, Scripe asks you to finish or delete one before you add another.
- The profile already exists. Pasting the URL of a profile the workspace already has adds nothing; Scripe names the profile and offers to open it.
