Done for you: running a client's LinkedIn on your subscription
This page is for agencies that take over a client's LinkedIn: you set up, write, schedule and report; the client gives input, approves and sees results. The Scripe cost sits on your subscription and you bill it into your service.
If the client pays for Scripe themselves and you work inside their workspace, follow Done with you instead.
What you need
- A Business plan on your agency workspace (several workspaces). See Plans.
- The right to manage billing for your agency workspace: only then can you add workspaces.
Set up the client
Create the client's workspace
Workspace menu (your workspace's name at the top of the sidebar) › Switch workspace › Add workspace. Enter the client's company name and press Create workspace. It is billed on your subscription and appears under Sub-workspaces on your agency's Billing page.
Connect the client's profile
A LinkedIn connection is made with the client's own LinkedIn login. Two ways:
- You have access to their LinkedIn login. In the client workspace, Settings › Users & Profiles › Invite › Add a profile and connect it yourself.
- You don't. Invite the client as a Member, without assigning a profile. When they first open the workspace, Scripe asks How will you use Scripe?; they choose Connect my LinkedIn and connect their own profile (this needs a free Full seat). Then change their role to Client in Users & Profiles.
A Client can't add or connect profiles, which is why the order matters. If their LinkedIn connection lapses later, see LinkedIn connection.
Give Scripe the client's context
In the client workspace: Settings › Strategy (content topics, the profile's content mix, the goal period), Settings › Knowledge (company and target-audience documents, sales decks, case studies, call transcripts), the profile's tone of voice, and Settings › Branding for the client's colors, typography and logos. See Content strategy and Knowledge base.
Fill in the target audience in the client's own words, not "we target tech companies". Ideas and posts are only as specific as this document.
Invite your own team
Invite colleagues who work on the account as Member (they work on the profiles you assign them) or Admin (every profile in the workspace). As the payer you already have Admin rights there.
Agree how approval works
Assign the client as reviewer on each post with Reviewer in the editor; it moves to a review status and shows up under Waiting for your review on their Home. The client approves or rejects it in the Scripe mobile app. If nothing may go out unapproved, turn on Require review workflow under Settings › Post status. See When review is required.
Onboard the client
Walk them through the three places they will use, ideally on a real post you assigned to them before the call:
- Home: the period's results and the posts waiting for their review.
- Posts: the calendar and the list. They see posts that are in review, scheduled or published, never your drafts.
- Analytics: their results. The team Leaderboard is not shown to clients.
The full list is in What a client sees.
With the Client role your client can't check your setup for you: strategy, knowledge, tone of voice and branding are hidden from them. Review those yourself before the first post goes out.
