Reporting results to a client
As an agency, you can let each client read their own LinkedIn results in Scripe, and send them a link to the exact period and profiles you want to discuss, without giving them access to your drafts, ideas or other clients.
This page is for agencies and their clients. How to set up a client workspace is in Running client workspaces.
How it works
Each client has their own workspace, and the client joins it as a user with the Client role. The Client role reads; it does not create.
What a client sees in the workspace:
- Home: results and posts for their profiles. No plan, campaigns or content check-in.
- Posts: the calendar and the list, limited to posts that are in review, scheduled or published. Drafts and ideas are never sent to them.
- Analytics: Overview, Conversion and, when one of their profiles is a Company Page, Company Page. The Leaderboard is not offered, and opening its address sends them to Overview. In Conversion, click tracking is left out.
- Their own account settings, and the workspace's General and Notifications settings.
Everything that creates or plans content (Explore, Ideas, Media, Community, the chat, the New post button) is hidden from a client and refused if they open its address.
A client sees only the profiles they are assigned to, everywhere above.
Setting up a client to read their results
Invite the client as a user
In the client's workspace, open Settings → Users & Profiles, choose Invite → Invite a user, and enter the client's email address.
Pick the Client role
Set the role to Client. A Member or Admin can create and change content; a Client can only review.
Assign their profiles
Give the client access to the profiles whose results they should see. A client with no assigned profile sees no results.
Roles are explained in Members, roles and teams.
Sending a client a view
The address of the Analytics page holds the whole view: date range, the period you zoomed to, granularity, comparison and the profile filter. To show a client one specific month:
- Open Analytics and zoom to the month (drag across a chart, or select the month on the time axis).
- Set the profile filter to the client's profiles.
- Copy the address from your browser and send it.
The client sees that view when they open it, as long as they can see those profiles. Opening your link does not change their own saved filter. A link to a group they may not open, such as Leaderboard, lands them on Overview with the same range. See Analytics.
For a file instead of a link, Export CSV downloads the analytics report or every post with its numbers.
Limits and plans
- Analytics is on Solo, Advanced and Business. Timing & Activity and the Leaderboard are on Advanced and Business. Click tracking, performance by label and campaign, and Export CSV are on Business. See Plans.
- A client never sees the Leaderboard or click tracking, whatever the plan.
Edge cases
- The client's profile has no LinkedIn connection. A profile added by its URL shows public figures only: posts, likes, comments and followers. Impressions, profile views, follower growth and the conversion funnel need the profile's own LinkedIn connection. Someone who manages the profile connects it in the profile's settings; the client gets no connect link.
- The client is also on another workspace. Roles are per workspace. Being a Client in one workspace does not limit them elsewhere.
