Is personal branding and LinkedIn content really a team endeavour? Yes and no. Let us explain: Of course, you are sharing your own posts. You are the person who builds their individual personal brand. But, why hike up a (LinkedIn) mountain alone if you can join a group or team that is on a similar route? Whether you are an individual, a 10-person team, an intern, or a manager at a 500-employee company: The chance is VERY high you are not alone.
In fact, even us, the Scripe Team, motivates each other. Even though we follow our Content Strategies and are building a tool to scale personal content creation, the hardest part is sticking to it.
Find a LinkedIn mountain buddy.
The Content Buddy Concept is a proven way to introduce accountability and consistency into your workflows.
Here’s how it works:
👥 Find a buddy or buddy group:
Team up with a content buddy or a small group (colleagues, friends, partners).
🎯 Set content buddy goals:
Each group member sets individual goals – ideally on a monthly and quarterly basis.
🏔️ Tip: A feasible and meaningful challenge to start with: Sharing 2x posts per week for 3 months.
💬 Meet regularly: Schedule a (bi-)weekly calls or meetups to discuss progress or talk about specific learnings.
🏔️ Tip: Record the meetings and conversations to use the insights for your upcoming content and posts.
🏆 Grow & celebrate wins:
Keep track of each others progress and hold each other accountable. An easy way to do this is to introduce challenge wins (or penalties for the ones who don’t stick to their goals ;)).
🏔️ Tip: Potential challenge wins may be a shared PayPal account, UberEats vouchers or days off.
We found that the the Content Buddy concept not only makes teams more successful in the short term. The shared motivation and increased accountability increase the chance that people don’t quit or become inconsistent. With consistency being an underlying factor for generating reach on LinkedIn, this approach raises the overall success of an individual’s and team’s united personal brand efforts.
Make it fun & enjoy the content mountain peak.
Congrats! You reached the end of this Scripe Method (hands down if you really read it all through 🙌). Now, before you’re off creating amazing, authentic posts, we hope you keep this Method in mind as guidance. In general, there are no right or wrong content strategies on to build your personal brand on LinkedIn – as long as your content is authentic and resonates with you and your audience. Too much pressure over a longer period of time will risk that you lose the joy of creating content – and your posts will likely carry that vibe across.
So instead of perfectionizing every post, follow this method as inspiration and guide, but make it yours and play around with it. It’s your LinkedIn mountain. If you find yourself losing motivation, meet up with your content buddy or take a short break to source new inspiration – yes, you can take breaks from time to time – your reach won’t die, and the algorithm won’t hate you.
Remember, you (and your team) decide to hike up that mountain. Let’s make it a fun hike, enjoy the view in between. Ideally, use our Scripe Method to make the path to building your personal brand even more efficient, authentic, and scalable as possible. All cringe- and stress-free.
Happy scriping. 🏔️
