Inactive Account Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This page explains in plain language what happens to free Scripe workspaces that are no longer used. The legally binding rules are in our Terms (Section XII) and our Privacy Notice (Section A.IV); the German versions prevail.

The policy in one paragraph

If a free workspace (including one left over from an expired trial) shows no activity for 12 months, we terminate the free agreement and permanently delete the workspace and its data. Before anything is deleted, we send three e-mail notices over roughly three months to every member of the workspace, each stating the exact deletion date. Signing in once — at any time before that date — stops the deletion and keeps everything.

Who is affected

  • Free workspaces, including expired trials, with no activity for at least 12 months: no sign-in by any member and no content activity (no posts, uploads, chats or API usage).
  • Paid workspaces are never affected. Any active subscription, ongoing paid period or special arrangement with us protects the workspace, no matter how long it is inactive.
  • If any member of a workspace also belongs to a paying Scripe workspace, we leave the workspace alone.

The timeline

  1. After 12 months of inactivity we send a first notice terminating the free agreement. The termination takes effect at the end of a month, at least two full months later, and the deletion date is 30 days after that — so there are always about 3 months between the first notice and any deletion.
  2. 30 days before the deletion date we send a reminder.
  3. 7 days before the deletion date we send a final notice.
  4. On the deletion date the workspace and its data are permanently deleted.

This applies regardless of how long an account has already been inactive: the clock for the notices always starts when the first notice is actually sent, never earlier.

How to keep your account

Sign in. That is all. Any sign-in before the deletion date cancels the termination, keeps the workspace and all of its data, and restarts the 12-month clock. We deliberately do not use "click here to keep your account" links — signing in is the one action that proves it is really you.

What gets deleted

All data of the workspace, including posts and drafts, uploaded media, voice and video recordings and their transcripts, chat and AI conversation history, content ideas and templates, knowledge base documents, the brand kit, analytics data and settings — and, if you have no other Scripe workspace, your sign-in account itself.

Posts you already published on LinkedIn remain on LinkedIn; the deletion affects the data stored in Scripe. A few records are kept for legal reasons (for example invoices, which tax law requires us to keep, and a minimal deletion record) — the details and retention periods are listed in our Privacy Notice.

Deletion is permanent. There is no recovery after the deletion date — neither by you nor by us.

Exporting your data

You can export your content free of charge at any time before the deletion date — in the application, or by contacting support@scripe.io for a machine-readable export.
